There is something heartbreaking about having to become an adult who goes back and comforts the child you once were. And perhaps the hardest part is realizing that some of the things you thought you had healed from were only buried beneath survival, respect, silence, and the hope that one day things would be different. Your story carries pain but also strength. Choosing to release someone to God does not mean what happened didn't matter. Forgiving does not mean giving them access to you again. And asking for distance does not make you bitter; it can be an act of love toward yourself. I hope the little girl in you finally gets to experience the safety, tenderness and love she deserved all along. May you never again have to earn love by tolerating what hurts you. And may God restore what was taken from you, not by pretending it never happened, but by teaching you that your future does not have to be governed by your past.

You spoke to the little girl in me. Tears are flowing... We(me and my younger self) will be ok. Thank you.
