Dear Dad

There are so many things I wish I could tell you. So many moments you’ve missed that I wish you could have been part of. Life didn’t stop when you died, yet somehow, I had to learn how to keep going too. But it hasn’t been the same without you. I miss you.

This is the heavy, quiet side of grief, the realization that the world keeps moving, but it carries a permanent shadow. It’s the "missing piece" feeling. You’ve done the hard work of growing and moving forward, but every milestone feels slightly bittersweet because he isn't there to witness it. It’s a strange thing to have to be proud of yourself while wishing he was the one saying it. It's okay to miss him while being proud of how far you’ve come on your own. You’re navigating a version of life you didn't ask for, and doing it with grace.
